is officially underway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The bobble relocation brackets arrived and they were raw steel, so I did this to them:<\/p>\n<p><a mounts from the rally car and filled them with WindoWeld:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/putrescence.org\/media\/displayimage.php?pid=4170\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" href=\"http:\/\/putrescence.org\/media\/displayimage.php?pid=4171\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Front mount\" href=\"http:\/\/putrescence.org\/media\/displayimage.php?pid=4307\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Engine Hoist\" src=\"http:\/\/www.putrescence.org\/media\/albums\/userpics\/10002\/normal_IMG_20120131_211316.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"298\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And it wasn&#8217;t until after I had assembled the whole thing by myself that I saw this warning sticker:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/putrescence.org\/media\/displayimage.php?pid=4308\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Warning!\" src=\"http:\/\/www.putrescence.org\/media\/albums\/userpics\/10002\/normal_IMG_20120131_211326.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"298\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They lie.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I used some chain around the exhaust manifold to pull the engine forward and then looped the chain around the exhaust and intake runners to life the engine up and maneuver it into place.\u00a0 To provide some support and to keep the motor from moving, I got the side engine mount into place:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/putrescence.org\/media\/displayimage.php?pid=4310\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Side mount in\" src=\"http:\/\/www.putrescence.org\/media\/albums\/userpics\/10002\/normal_IMG_20120201_230314.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"298\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With the motor held up with a block of wood underneath and the engine hoist above, I felt more comfortable getting in there and starting to prepare the car for re-assembly.\u00a0 The Forge BOV is installed now, however, without applying all the much force, I was able to completely strip out the bolt hole, so I&#8217;m going to get that fixed before I get the transmission in place.\u00a0 I also need to remove the power steering unit from the K-member so that I can bolt the bobble re-lo bracket into place.\u00a0 I do not have a transmission mount that is salvagable, and it appears that the junkyard is only going to charge about 8 bucks after taxes, so I think I&#8217;ll go get one from the yard and then fill it at home.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The bobble relocation brackets arrived and
